for gaming ppl use VPN to bypass ip blocks, this gives no delay in connection whatsoever and atmost takes a tiny tiny bit of your processor's power.
Spoiler
edit: this is not meant to support hackers but VPN software was originally developed to make buisnessmen on the go able to annoymously surf on their laptop at any hotspot or internet connectionlocation. VPN basicaly encrypts and dycryps data and also happens to change your ip adress to something that isnt connected to any country (not sure about the last part). the good thing is that games and websites are not allowed to simply block encrypted traffic since its ppl's rights to secruely/annonymously surf the web, including games. Nexon or any company can never block people because they use vpn but that doesnt mean ur immume to their banhamer! (nexon's hamer is getting dusty between some old books and other stuff doomed never to be used again)
example: if i happened to play mapleglobal from lets say france and i made my account after the european block then with vpn i could still play mapleglobal. however if i would send a letter to nexon saying: "Nananana! you guys cant block me even though i live in france, because i use vpn!!! " they still would be able to block me because i just gave them reasons to assume i live in france and thereby i would be disrespecting the therms of service.
