Are you at all active in the larger part of the gay community?
Where I live and the people I work with, we do a lot of activist events for just that, since the leader of our social coalition is a lesbian. We end up doing a lot of protests around the city, as well as a lot of conferences and public events to get the word out about what it's like to be part of the LGBT community.
