i can for sure tell you thats only because his hitbox changes size for each animation. savage blow has a very small range. brandish, however, hits every time except for the space where i can get in 2 wasted attacks with a fast4 weapon on the heal animation. rush doesnt work when hes in his... hmmm... i think its the slow animation, because of the higher hitbox.
