If you're really interested in hitting the damage cap, just go level. I'm sure you'll be able to hit it pretty soon.
I could honestly care less. I'm 99% sure I can hit the damage cap on monsters with much lower MDEF than Phantoms (with the appropriate buffs), and I'm so close anyways that I'm not going to even bother spending 5 minutes calculating to double check, or 8 hours leveling if I'm five magic points away. Like many, I've got so much going on in life right now that that's not my priority.
Anyways, I didn't want to make this whole thing into a page-long math debate; I'm simply posting damage that, from one glance, can tell almost anyone that I'm capable of hitting the damage cap. Doesn't matter if I didn't show it here; I could care less. Let's move on.
