What I meant by keeping it personal is that don't commit suicide in ways that could potentially injure or kill others, such as jumping off a highway overpass into a road with incoming traffic, speeding in a car without a seat belt on and crashing that car into a wall to throw yourself out of the vehicle, or even worse, hijacking an airplane and crashing it into a solid object such as a mountain or a building. (Yes, the last example unfortunately actually happened, but the people responsible for that were intent on actually hurting people, not committing suicide for their own reasons.)
