Dusk Wrote:Equips have ID numbers. I can't think how else they would manage so many equips with different stats. If you were to dupe equips, it should theoretically be possible to purge the database of all equips with the same ID numbers. Stacks of items are stacks of items, though.
Harrisonized Wrote:You present a good argument. I'll lay off with the assumptions, I guess, though it greatly bothers me when someone forces me to "assume" that this is a glitch because it is "common sense". That kind of logic generally drives me to think in the opposite direction.
Equips may have ID numbers, but perhaps not. Wouldn't it save more space to have ALL equipment that are (exactly) 5luk 36atk 2def Blue Scarabs share the same ID number? Then if you use a scroll to alter the stats, then the ID number changes.
For example:
Nexon makes an ID number for each of the Blue Rabs:
4~6 LUK
32~37 atk
0~2 def
That's 54 ID numbers for 54 different items.
Now when a scroll is used, more ID numbers are generated until the item is destroyed, in which event the item's ID number would vanish until by chance the ID number is revived.
This is only my theory. Since there are hundreds of equips, potentially thousands, then it'd make more sense to have such shared ID numbers?
GummyBear Wrote:Okay, Nexon defined a glitch to be "an unintended feature'. You sir sitting here arguing whether they're intended for something like this to happen or not, and since you believe in "innocent until proven guilty", I guess that translates to "intended until Nexon said otherwise". So yes, did Nexon intended to make white scrolls stacked with clean slate scrolls? Did Nexon intended to make BF the way it was? Did Nexon intended to make scrolls dupable? etc. Common sense, (as well as programming logic) said no. So you sir can sleep happy with your strong belief that it isnt a glitch, while we're expressing our strong belief that it is. You're not willing to bend your view so stop expecting us to bend ours. You fully aware of what you're doing indeed and Nexon makes the call at the end of the day.
Well, if all rabs with the same stats say has the same ID, then how are you mapping it to a player? It's pretty obvious they have different ID, because you cannot "stack" equips. When an equip is destined to drop, its properties get generated off a base, thus values changed. Items from quests, such as the deputy star have fixed stats, but many players has them, so with just 1 id, how much works are needed to distinguish which belongs to whom?
Your theory is wrong.
Harrisonized, I would believe what you mention would take less space than having an ID for each item.
Also, sending a hash to your comp, generating object-stats would be no problem GummyBear. Also, I don't see where you need to distinguish those items from others, but that's on the assumption that these items are saved in the Equips-section in an array with a hash-key.
And again guys, don't say things as if it were a fact, unless you have proper proof.
Edit: Hmm, it sounds like I'm with Harrisonized. Well...
I like to apply common sense to this situation whether other people like it or not. Nexon decides what to do if or when they find out, assuming this is a glitch. But predicting what Nexon would do in this situation, or if they would do anything at all, is based on your common sense. Common sense varies from people to people, based on experience, knowledge etc. etc, so yeah...
Oh and yeah. It's morally wrong to abuse a glitch unless everyone does it. Just thought I'd hit you guys up with that.
