And yes, you ARE favoring your explanation. Your position of "cannot be determined, therefore we can't say it's a glitch" isn't really valid. Let me explain:
Say there are three bottles of water in front of you (lol @ all the water bottles in this thread), and you know that two of them are poisoned, but not which ones. Are you going to pick up one and try to drink it ("we aren't sure that this one's poisoned, so we can't say it is"...), or are you going to play it safe and find water elsewhere?
Even if it can become a feature like HP washing has (and I honestly do not see any reason why it should), it can also become bannable.
