Magatia Drops

The drop tables are static. They always drop the same items. However, certain items only appear to you if you have X quest active/available/not available. This is why you can party with someone who has completed a quest and still loot the Quest Item drops off their kills. The Plant Fossils ALWAYS drop from Green mushrooms, even if you're level 200 and did the quest 3 years ago. If you kill a green mushroom, it will drop one. However, because you're not on that quest, you won't see them. This is especially obvious in Test Servers, because you'll frequently see "gaps" in the drops. For example:
X________MET_____Q
X and Q are quest items, while the M is Mesos, E is ETC, and T is an arbitrary rare drop (say a Top equip). Why do the X and Q items land so far apart from the other items? Because there are invisible items that you can't see that landed in between. Weird, I know, but that's how it works.

I've actually made this observation quite a while ago. However, what I've observed is that unless someone who has the quest activated is in the party or hits the monster that you are killing, then the quest item isn't triggered to drop. That's why you normally don't see Green Mushroom's drop like your stated example with X, MET, and Q.

Also, I have a problem understanding that drop tables are static, because so many people have come up to me and told me that Nexon can change the drops at any time because drops are server sided.

So, what was going on in Magatia is that those drops weren't programmed correctly to be associated with the quest; thus, they were dropping all the time. Now that those items are associated with a Quest on Nexon's servers, they're only seen when on that quest. On the other hand, there are numerous other worthless items that still didn't get a quest yet (99% caocao, baking powder of loneliness, etc.) and those are still dropping. When/If they implement the quest those are used for, you'll stop seeing them. That doesn't mean Nexon altered Magatia monsters' drops at all, it just means that those items are now "invisible" to you because you're not on the quest.

They're not invisible as they still drop at a great rate from the Magatian monsters. However, I was asking that since Nexon can apparently control the drops whenever they want, would they take out the Chaos Scrolls and Helm Int 60%s and whatever wasn't supposed to be there when they do fix it.

Short version: Nexon didn't change the drop tables so Chaos Scrolls probably do drop still.

Reading this gave me a new question to ask: Since Nexon's droptables are copied directly from other versions, does this mean that the Chaos Scrolls found from monsters can break your items when they work, as opposed to the nonbreaking version from gach?
