I looked at what they did to CGs.
Attack #1, which is the sword slice, was changed from physical attack with 500 attack points, to a magic attack. It also became unavoidable (which would explain why the range seems bigger) CG's magic is 800.
Attack #2, the mace attack, is now a physical attack with 500 attack, and it has a value called "attachfacing" which I would believe makes it unavoidable only when the CG is facing you.
This is why the numbers aren't adding up; One's a magic attack, and thus responds to magic defense, while the other is physical. Findings assumption that they switched them is basically correct though.
