Five hours... yes, I suppose that's enough time to write... what is that, like seven pages? You really have to be cranking it out though.

Nah. 750 words isn't that many pages. It usually comes out between 3-4 pages, double-spaced. Once I get a topic I have an opinion on (rarely do I not have an opinion on something), I can usually write these essay assignments in an hour's time.

However, I also know how to play the game. If I'm not getting into a topic as much as I should, I know ways to still get past the deadlines. Today just the rough draft is due. For the first essay, I brought mine in without a conclusion, still only 5xx words and didn't have any Works Cited. Didn't matter, though. lol That was still enough for him to get where I was going. By getting past that deadline, I opened up a few more days to finalize the paper. It turned out great.

Pushing procrastination to the limit is the way to go!

Me too. I think part of the reason I am going down this path is because of how awesome all my different English teachers have been. I was lucky enough to get to experience five different English teachers throughout high school (which was 7th-12th grade for me). They were all very different and affected me in unique ways. I'm grateful to them.

My topic always has to come from our book Vice & Virtue In Everyday Life. The chapters and topics I get to choose from for this essay really don't interest me much. Wanna help out? Which topic should I go with for my paper?

A) Analyzing defenses of abortion, contrasted with criticisms/objections of abortion

If I choose this topic, I'll most likely side with the author defending abortion. I like the points she makes on her side better, and she isn't in favor of abortion in all cases. I don't entirely agree with her, but it'll be easier to support her than the other author.

B) Analyzing the act of giving financial aid to poor countries, contrasted with the belief that giving financial aid only causes more damage than good

If I choose this topic, I'll most likely side with the author that is against financial aid. He makes some excellent points, and I've always been more against financial aid after taking World Regional Geography last semester. It'd be pretty easy to write about, but I don't think it has as much substance as the other topic.

What do you two think? There's very little else that is interesting from these chapters. Both of these topics have their pros and cons, but I'm certain I could handle either.
