Socialism. Read the first few paragraphs. Socialists in Europe today are primarily social "democracies", and thus don't fit with the old socialist nations. However, there are good examples of why people fit communists and socialists together, even in modern Europe: the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands members Karl Liebknecht & Rosa Luxemburg split and formed the Sparacist League (and the KPD), which joined the Comintern. Radicals ended up killing a few people, this caused the local Bayerische Freikorps to respond, causing unnecessary death. When socialism is frustrated by democracy, it responds with force. When the government is frustrated by individuals, it responds with force. Marx & Engel's interpretation of the class struggle, proper goals and final stage of socialism is called communism. Furthermore, Socialist state. The second bullet states common Marxist interpretation that socialism is just a stepping stone to communism. With communism comes Leninism, and Lenin was followed by Stalin's fun collectivization and the Holodomor. In America, Eugene V. Debs is associated with socialism, his connection to deadly riots and "anti-Patriotism" also stigmatizes socialism.
Nazism is a merger of socialism and nationalism. You may like to note that other fascists (save for the Ustase, who was more of Nazi puppet than Italian puppet) rarely massacred populations. Italian, Spanish (Falange), Portuguese and Brazilian (Integralism) fascism are all different from Hitler's Nazism. Hitler associated finance capitalism with the Jews, and hence rejected it as a stable and sustainable form of economics for Germany (influenced by Mussollini who was a socialist). Hitler also disliked the Catholic clergy (which was dominant where he was raised), this is stereotypical of socialist and communist governments. Other fascists were largely in support of the dominant religion (Hitler tolerated Protestantism). As such, fascism cannot be thought of as a coherent ideology if you put the NSDAP in the same category...
Some good quotes that sum up my point of view...
"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have." - Thomas Jefferson
"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill
About South Korea and North Korea's potential war: South Korea will easily destabilize North Korea. All it needs to do is bribe people with food. (Further more it is more populated, wealthier, and has much better military technology).
To conclude in a parallel question: Why do so many people dislike Libertarianism? I hear a lot of "Darn anarchist!".
