To be perfectly honest...
In my case, if some guy is underselling to me in a trade, I'll tell him the true value of his item. I'd feel like I was ripping him off if I didn't.
If it's in a shop, I'll buy and keep. That's because if an item in a shop is a great deal, it WILL be gone in 5 minutes.
The only important item I ever got like that was my lvl 130 lit ele wand. It is below average, being 147/3 scrolled, but I got it in a shop for 230 mil, which is an exquisite bargain. Then 5 minutes later alliance chat exploded as someone else found the shop. Had I not gotten it, it would have gone to him 5 minutes later.
