if the wand is tradeable, a temp fix to this is have someone stay at the door and a lower lvl mage get the wand, if they cant make it back, have the one who stayed at the door /trade the one with the wand, you should be able to trade that way if its tradeable.

If you jump down at the red circle and move to the right a little, you'll fall through the map and end up at the beginning again (at the left).
