"Harry saw Sirius duck Bellatrix's jet of red light: He was laughing at her ... The second jet of light hit him squarely on the chest."
Couldn't have been Adava Kedavra cause the light was red not green. But in the movie Bellatrix clearly says "Avada Kedavra," then Sirius just kinda of fades away into the archway. He doesn't get knocked back like in the book.[/COLOR]
Oh Goodie...a topic I know something about!
If you read the quote carefully, it says "the second jet of light"...NOT the second jet of red light. We don't know exactly what color the second jet of light actually was. We can infer that it was red, but as JKR is a master at slight of hand using words, you should never assume anything. Eventually we are told that he is absolutely dead, but this way there was still some question - especially because so many were hoping that Sirius would have found a way to communicate with HP with their 2-way mirrors.
