Provoked or not, it was an active choice to sabotage your peers.
That was your reaction, regardless of your justification. It did happen, and is your responsibility, regardless what you say.
I sincerely hope they simply drop you as a runner, anyone who has that little self control and maturity has no place on a place team of any kind.
