Devil's Sunrise Wrote:The other part of this, is to find out whether you're able to find out whether a person has been abused this glitch or not. (Which is the biggest issue, really) If you're unable to locate and/or the glitch is so extreme that it will kill maplestory as of today, the "only" way to fix this is by a rollback, I'd think.While this is true, I don't think a rollback will be very effective, since these more-than-maxed slot capes and shoes are only in the hands of few, and most of them are just 1-3 stats higher.
Devil's Sunrise Wrote:Last part, as for chair jumping and spell-jumping: These are minor glitches in the game, which does not really make anything unfair for anyone. The spell-jumping may be discussed, though if I were a Nexon programmer, I'd think that this unintended feature was a bonus, and a "gift" instead of an issue.And thus, wouldn't white slating be merely a minor glitch?
Devil's Sunrise Wrote:The other part (protection/spike), I'm unsure of because I'm unsure whether there's a check on their servers with the scrolls. If there's no check, this glitch will very dangerous for items, such as facestompers. You're able to give the items a lot of attack through the use of chaos scrolls.See, the problem is that Chaosing isn't cost effective unless you have everything else upgraded. Keep in mind that Chaos are 60% scrolls. 30% of the time, they add stats, 30% of the time, they take it away, and this applies to all stats individually. However, it balances out when it works to a net +0. Getting more than +2 on each Chaos is by extreme luck, as you have about an 18% chance of getting it on your desired stat. Getting 18% chance on 5 slots isn't very high, thus, it would not be as gamebreaking as you'd imagine it to be.
Devil's Sunrise Wrote:yeah, this issue should be addressed as soon as possible. Since Nexon-programmers (or technicians) has all the data in a database, they could eventually search up items having more slots, or worked scrolls, than possible. I do agree that this would be somewhat hard if they have no searching-algorithm yet, but that's the only way finding people effectively abusing this part of the glitch.Somehow, I highly doubt they have all the items in the database. If they did, then last year's duping scheme would not have worked. Also, if they had all the items in the database, why did they not attach item IDs to each one of them?
KaidaTan Wrote:I haven't experienced any timing difference with jumpcasting any of my attack/support skills (DS, AB, DP, Strafe, AR, Inferno, Puppet). Do you have a specific example?Yes. Press them at the same time and you will experience the phenomenon known as "jumpcasting". (And although I'm not a bowman, I know almost every bowman knows to jumpcast strafe when appropriate.)
Sivrat Wrote:you know, im suprised no one brought this up, or suggested it, or w/e. Since the glitch has been exposed, it isnt really more cost effective anymore, but when clean slates are like pretty darn cheap, it is more effective doing this. If you land a bunch of 30s, lets say 4, on an weapon that is well above average. If you want a perfect weapon, the option before was to use whitescrolls with every slot, 10%ing, which would cost the price, on a loose average, 30 white scrolls. But, if you 10% each of the last slots, if you dont want to risk it. More then likely end up with +4, right? Then you use the glitch to get those 3 slots back, and repeat. Granted, it wont save a lot of money, especially if you arent lucky, but you wont lose white scroll whenever the 10% works. Im tired, and dont feel like doing math, but it should take on a loose average 10 tries to land a 10%, so each slot will use 9 white scrolls and 9 clean slates instead of 10 white scrolls. Im pretty sure, before the mass inflation on clean slates, 9 of them were cheaper then 1 white scrolls, and more common too. The increase in perfect items is actually due to less white scrolls being needed. albeit, not that much less. This, plus, you dont have to be the one who did the landing of the 10/30%s in the first place, just have to get slots back and redo.LOLOLOL! How would using this save you one white scroll? The scroll is still 10%, meaning you still have to do whatever you have to do 10 times to get the slot.
y0y0y0y0shi0 Wrote:It's a glitch. It was obviously unintended. Abusing a Glitch = Hacking in Nexon's eyes. Getting more than intended slots = Hacking.How do you know they are more than 'intended'. Nowhere did they mention that capes can only have 8 slots. Also, if I wanted to abuse the glitch, I would have done it on a better item than a Purple AC.
Glitching does not = hacking.
If glitching = hacking, then Nexon would not have them separated on the ToS.
# Exploit errors in design, features which are not documented and/or bugs to gain access that would otherwise not be available or to obtain any competitive advantage;
# Modify the Software, Cash Items or the Service to change "game play," including, without limitation, creating cheats and/or hacks or using third-party software to access files in the Software or Service;
(Don't try to argue that this is bannable because it's available to everyone, thus no competitive advantage in the first terms.)

If there's a +11 item, then there really is 0 restriction.
MetaSeraphim Wrote:Because it's the limit of slots on equips, just because it's a cape doesn't mean it can't go by a the overall's limit on slots.Precisely.
Thunda Wrote:It's a glitch when you get more than the number of intended slots, you have to admit.Again, you do not know what was intended or not, so stop it with the assumptions.
What if (yes, what if) one of the Nexon's decide to produce a method in which you can increase the number of slots? Would this suddenly become intended?
