Overall great comedies (must-watch):

- Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan
- Dai Mahou Touge (Magical Witch Punie-chan)
- FMP Fumoffu (also FMP, FMP Second Raid) <-- an anime classic
Azumanga Daioh is slice-of-life/school life comedy.
Asu no Yoichi (similar to FMP, with a moderate amount of ecchi) is currently airing.
I really recommend Kannagi, Zetsubo Sensei, and Lucky Star, though.
Comedy with more character progression, or at least a storyline please?
