A protection really isn't very hard to design for this problem. I know it's easier said than done, but really this doesn't take much for a professional team of game designers.
They shouldn't even have to worry about such a thing. If they fixed this glitch with White Scrolls, there wouldn't be a problem or potential for anything crazy.
It would be vastly easier to correct White Scrolls than code in some limit or whatever.
