Doesn't seem to work that way for me.
When I'm chatting, it uses the Windows keymapping.
When I'm playing, it uses the physical locations of the keys, so that the key setup screen looks exactly the same as where I push buttons to get results.
I guess if the software was working on a more basic level it would be ok. But just changing the key mapping does nothing for me.
Or if your keyboard was actually laid out in Dvorak style and sent the electrical signals like that, it would probably be sending the right signals so that MS didn't think you were pressing "ASDF" on the homerow keys.
