Everybody says "be different" so people like you go along and shout "I am different" and it's just another fashionable herd mentality.
As far as I'm concerned, it's still the lesser of the two evils. It leaves more room for free thought, as opposed to the re(strict)ed mentality of religious guidelines.
Kinda hard to be original in this day and age.
