What you're describing is more similar to the Auction tab of MTS, and that section is pretty much unused.

The less popular items fluctuate each day. As a rule, if you are not sure, do not go for it. One bad investment can screw up your profits. See that craven in my screenshot? That was a bad investment, because I was unable to resell for a better price. (If you're wondering, I got it for 760 but now it won't sell so the meso invested there would what I consider to be 'stagnant'.)
