The thread for Str-less brawlers

you don't seem to get the "point" of being str-less... well... there's no point really... you could consider it more as a "challenge"...

there are a couple of people who play Final Fantasy X, decide to play through the whole game "sphere-less"... spheres are the FFX leveling up and skill upgrade system... why would you go sphere-less when you can easily beat them by using spheres? well same thing really... we put up a challenge and test ourselves to see if we can achieve that goal... and they have. and you can pretty much sense they're a LOT more satisfied at beating the game sphere-less than beating it first hand with everything allowed...

there were also "one character only" etc which set up different challenges. just consider perma-beginners, HP warriors, STR clerics, STR-less brawlers, etc as a "big challenge" to the players who chose to follow those paths...

anyways... having more damage is just a "bonus"... it's not something "WE HAVE TO GET!" we're going str-less because we chose to be weaker... but being stronger in the weaker spectrum is always better... and that's not by "adding points into str" which defeats the purpose

and no, dex is NOT better than str... and WHAT KIND of a weapon gives DEX bonus?!? *that a pirate can wear*

and the MORE you have of that "bonus stat", the less useful that bonus the weapon gives is useful.

if i had more str, say all dex into str, then that 9 str from tuna wouldn't do much at all... but since i don't have any (only 4 from top and 4 base) that 9 makes a HUMONGOUS difference

and the extra dex i get for not adding str *21 points now* compared to the weapon attack the gun would offer is not worth it.

gun is VERY weak... it's fast, but still weak. using double fire with a lvl 10 gun is DEFINITELY out of the question. ANYTHING else, even fish spear would be better than the lvl 10 gun.

and YES it IS bothering me to put points into str, because that would make me NOT str-less anymore

the definiteion of str-less is NO STR ADDED (or only 4 base str)

you were talking about weapon choices, i reply with what i think:
if you want a better weapon? go for the ones with more str. instead of wep att. of course wep att is also important just not as much as str. for the same range

Yes, DEX is better than STR on a pure DEX brawler. Otherwise, you'd just add points to STR.

So, though it may be counter-intuitive, as far as equips go DEX should also > STR. Otherwise it just makes no sense.

Oh, I'm not saying weapon attack is necessarily better. Both stats could be considered better than attack. Then in that case yes, a STR weapon would be better than a higher attack weapon.

But if you make sense, you'd take a DEX cape over a STR one.
