The thread for Str-less brawlers

it was said... both polearm and spear had the SAME wep att... so of course spear > polearm...

now you add in dex to your calculation:
at my current level...
8 str *because of 4 str top* and 117 dex...
my tuna would in general deal:
(17 * 3 + 117) * 83 / 100 = 139.44 (my tuna has 9 str boost from scrolling)
to compare to that, i'll need a...
(17 * 5 + 117) * x / 100 = 117.03 => x = 139.44 * 100 / (17 * 5 + 117) = 69 att spear with 9 str boost... OR *skipping formula* 88.8 ~ 89 att spear with 0 str boost... (20 weapon attack for 9 str?!? WOW! and the tuna with str > spear without str at same wep attack!)

so what does that tell us?
it's not weapon attack that plays a bigger role... it's the amount of str the weapon offers =) because our base STR is SO LOW ... ANY str added can increase the damage by a HUGE margin... so... first thing to look at when getting a weapon is the amount of STR it offers... and THEN the weapon attack... and finally the weapon type
i just proved polearm can be better than spear if enough str is put in...

ok without str boost in weapons then?

let's just say i wasn't wearing any str top and my tuna had 0 str boost... *which is impossible unless it's a lvl 20 beginner's tuna... which i couldn't wear anyway... but let's just say i CAN ... and i CAN at the same time find a spear that can match it*

tuna: 107.07 att
to match it, i need a spear with: 78 wep att...

5 attacks lower only...
so Russt is right in a way... weapon type, doesn't play too big of a role in choosing a weapon... BUT if it were the same attack, AND the same str bonus *MORE IMPORTANT*, then spear is the way to go.

and guns definitely aren't a help at all... my friend's 23 gunslinger does about the same damage as me with a fish spear... but that's with a lvl 20 gun... which i can't wear because of low str. so using a gun is definitely out of the question.

ffs. If you want STR nothing's preventing you from adding some. But since you choose not to, then obviously 1 DEX > 1 STR so the DEX bonus on the weapon is even better.

I chose to avoid that confusion by simply doing a half-half build. Too bad I'm too lazy to train. lol
