It wasn't an attempt to monopolize HT, it was an attempt to keep hackers out. GM's ban legit players holding the HT cave from hackers, but do absolutely nothing when it comes to the people actually hacking it.

Yeah, it's totally the same situation, people holding the HT cave entrance where people can report you, for 17 hours, vs solitary hackers who may or may not get banned in the cave.

Also, since a GM obviously came to check horntails cave, they may well have been looking for hackers there anyway.
