Religion diverges away from the main point:God.
I don't care about what happend thousands of years ago, todays world is completely different from then, we have our own problems to face and we can't look to any Holy Book for answers.
People have their own morals, whats right to me might not be right to someone else,so if you live morally right to your standards,I don't see a problem with it unless it harms someone else.
The teachings of various religions still applies today. 'Thou shall not kill' 2,000 years ago isn't suddenly wrong today. The morals and values it teaches are things that a person should live by, but religion is flawed in the sense that it tries to teach too much, many things that have already been debunked by science, thus religious scholars try to find deeper meaning behind the words to fortify the holy books in scientific literature, which will never happen. Religion is the reason why people have come together and why society and civilisation was born, but in today's age the world has many religions and our egocentric nature that 'my religion is right, yours is wrong' is what's causing today's major world conflicts, not necessarily religion itself.
