Wow lots of posts. Let me clarify myself, and before I start I apologize if it seems very disorganized; instead of replying to everyone's posts I'm just going to respond to several comments brought up, separating each one with spaces. Here goes.
First off, I can't hit 60k+ on Elementally weak. At 170, I can do Goals' damage on fire-strong with a Poison Wand with Meteor Shower (43-44ks ish I've seen at Pap). So sorry, I can't lead by example. I just meant it would be cool to see something like that, which is why when Goals started his post with that, I was impressed. Neither SW nor SP on ANY damage flaunting thread has ever had a person post that damage, since everyone's busy proving how great they are for hitting the damage cap.
Bribery, I don't think he meant as a rule, but as a suggestion. Take it as you will, but personally I could care less where it's reposted. I'll post my opinions on a forum and people can quote me with them as they wish, as do most people who post on forums/blogs.
I'm not against posting Elemental Wand damage, I'm against posting straight 99999's and just leaving it there. Great, you're a 16x+ ArchMage with an Ice/Fire wand and can hit the damage cap I'm ohsoimpressed.
This segways into what Will was saying. No, I'm not against Elemental Wands for any reason other than the fact that they greatly skew damage so people think, at a first glance, that people are amazingly godly and they should bow before them, when really their damage isn't always the most unparalleled on the block. For example, I can hit the damage cap 100% of the time on fire-weak with a Poison Wand. Big whoop, right? But I can also hit 88ks at Skeles with the Poison Wand. When borrowing my friend's fire wand, my range on neutral was 83k-99999, hitting the damage cap at least 10-25% of the time. Now THAT tells you something about my other equips. When was the last time you saw an I/L hitting the damage cap 100% of the time at Skeles with a Lightning Wand? I can tell you I check damage threads every day, and I've never seen a screenie like that. All I see, day in and day out, are I/Ls posting damage cap screenies - with Ice Wands - or Bishops posting damage cap screenies - on Holy-weak.
Sure, we can divide the damage by the appropriate multipliers, but that raises two issues: (1) because 99999 is a CAP, applying multipliers would probably lower the damage from what people could actually do considering without elemental bonuses people could be hitting more than whatever 99999 divided by 1.25 is, and (2) because who is really going to spend the time skimming a thread while looking at screenies to sit and recalculate "true" damage? The internet has made our society so ADD and fast paced that once we see a screenshot for 10 seconds, we're done and on to the next picture or thread, and thus no one will waste the time calculating damage. What you're asking for is more utopian than simply asking to see damage without skewing multipliers.
Also Bribery, you said you have yet to see an I/L hit the damage cap on neutrals. Supp3rGirl just posted, and on the first page of this thread there's a picture of TruffleLock hitting the damage cap with an Ice Wand at newties. At level 175. And when I asked him to do a picture with a Lightning Wand, he went a step further to wow me with a picture using a weapon attack weapon with no matk or INT. And he was hitting 72ks. Now that's REALLY good damage, and tells a lot about your equips aside from an elemental wand.
Finally, before Bishops go "wtphax" at AMs hitting the damage cap at Skeles: Genesis is bugged so that you can only hit 99,6xx tops there, while hitting the damage cap anywhere else. I don't know why that is, but if you need ss proof I've got plenty of friends who can help.
