Alright here's my opinion:
What Dan is trying to say is since Ele weapons were out, AM ultimate damage (and their respective side element's damage) went straight up sky high like detonating hydrogen bombs almost overnight due to the major boost they give. Literally no one is posting their "pure" damage (aka using a normal Mage weapon instead), and he's literally pointing out (correct me if im wrong Dan) that people that doesn't have Elemental weapons have a major disadvantage, whether you look at it both ways.
(Exception is for Bishops since they don't even get any crap from Elemental weapons, if they possess one. Maybe a major matk boost compared to other weapons, but nothing else. Literally a very well-equipped Bishop with Gen30/MW20 + really good weapon could hit 99,999 on Skelies very early, depending what "route" [stat-wise] they took.)
Its been like 5-6 months since Ele weapons were released. Literally any rich AM (I apologize for this in advance if it doesn't represent you) could get max Blizzard, MW20, maybe a HT pendant (+1), and a decently scrolled Ele weapon and just nuke away. (Note: It can range depending if that respective AM is low-luk, lukless, etc). More and more AM's can do this now due to the easiness of money-making today in MS, which killed the once-rare achievement of hitting 99,999 on monsters with respective ultimate attacks, whether its normal or elementally-weak monsters. Since nearly everyone is posting their best damage with Ele weapon, its becoming very rare nowadays (unless by request) for someone to post their true damage with their respective attacks, without the major boost of an Elemental weapon.

Edit: To not contridict myself, I'll post my VERY own damage with and w/o Elemental weapons this weekend. I do possess a 129/9 Poison Staff, but I want to see what I could still do with my antiquated 116/9 Codar. I'll post in these categories (respectively): Poison (weak with Ele staff), Poison (weak with Codar), Poison (normal with Ele weapon), Poison (normal with Codar), Fire (weak with Ele weapon), Fire (weak with Codar), Fire (normal with Ele weapon), Fire (normal with Codar).
Attacks to be used: Fire Arrow, Paralyze (Level 1), Meteo (Level 6). Only my normal (and own buffs) will be used.
