isnt it like this:
the summersault kick looks electrical but thats only an animation and it has no element to it, but when you do electrical charge thingy all your attacks actually get the electrical element, including sumersault kick?

That's exactly how it works, yeah. But that basically means that through the entirety of first you've got an attack that looks like it's lightning element, but isn't.
