The burning event at the node immediately preceding this one didn't occur either (it was set for April or something, and oddly enough like the one that was set for today, was set to start at 10AM, while the others at at midnight), and the three before that one were the three from this summer. I don't think all of them correspond to actual burning events held in GMS.
Alternatively, I think it might possibly be to enable the Burning Character coupons that people got (from either the new or returning player events).
