because it was being discussed in a blatantly "pineapple ncsoft, pineapple this company, pineapple your game" kind of way, dude.

That's more of an assumption that they made based on what they saw happening to previous games that did the same thing, so they preemptively said don't do this and followed through when people started doing it until nobody that disagreed was left, or at least not willing to get themselves banned.

and I see nothing wrong with the "pineapple ncsoft, pineapple this company, pineapple your game" mentality if they did indeed pineapple it up. Which, obviously, they did. The posts wouldn't have had such prevalence there to begin with if they didn't. The reason I eventually quit though was not because of that but because of how easy it was compared to the games I had been playing before it, the hardest dungeon I played in that entire game only took me a couple days of wipes to clear even in extremely low tier gear (mostly due to getting literal trash parties because of no guild, with a decent guild with decent players I probably could have cleared him in under 8 hours), that's not even MCHM level of difficulty and TERA was too easy as well. A high skill cap doesn't really shine in a game like that, I was consistently outaggroing people in awakened/true pirate weapon with my shitty awakened siren 5 and terrible accessories so there was a skill cap involved, but I just couldn't see a point of it except in pvp, which I don't like in MMOs to begin with. Why grind for strong gear when you can clear everything with trash anyway?
