The pet can be moved to Cash inventory, and it doesn't say anything about not being revivable with Water of Life. So it seems like a normal pet. I'd still be leery about buying any skills for it.
On the other hand, Reboot still doesn't have Water of Life in the Rewards Shop. So this might just be Nexon's way of trying to hook the people who were staunchly refusing to buy a pet (like myself) by "waiving" the initial 4.9k NX in the hopes of making us pay the $10 per year in water of life. And starting in 30 days rather than 90.
Oh well. A gift is a gift, and this one is pretty nice.
