Either way this sounds more incompetent than Nexon's usual.
It's way too uncharacteristic of Nexon even if they're exceedingly incompetent
Typically even if they don't know how it's done, they would at least take the server down until they figure out how it's done especially when it's game breaking like this. Also, there are many aspects of the exploit that gives the method away.....quantity of cubes.....the actions of the characters.....item used...etc
A general timeline:
Saturday afternoon-Exploit found
Monday 11:15 AM-All exploiters permanently banned and no actions taken against mule accounts that held the items (Exploit not patched)
Tuesday 10:30 AM-All exploiters permanently banned and no actions taken against mule accounts that held the items (Exploit not patched)
Tuesday 7:00 PM-Most of the mule accounts that made contact with exploiters between Saturday and Monday are tradeblocked (Some were only tradeblocked after relogging so friends were able to tell each other about that and move items off then relog). Exploit still not patched
Right now (Tuesday 9:30 PM)-Exploit not patched and tradeblock is still unsuccessful
I bet that even you (just learning about this) can figure out a least what's being exploited from just that information
