Concerning the new AP system...
#1
I recently wanted to test if you could abuse the new stat system's reset upon promotion feature to get your character additional HP/MP. So I decided to make a Magician and pump all of it's APs into HP at level 11 as a beginner, right before I promoted it. (Note that now you can't add APs into HP/MP until you're level 11, so I had to save them up for 10 levels). Before Promotion I had roughly 650 HP and 110 MP. What then happened shocked me. My HP and MP after promotion were 210 and 301 respectively. My Int was set at 20 (as expected), my other stats at 4, and I had 43 APs in my pool. So, I lost no APs but my HP dropped by over 400.

What's most odd about this, is that in order for a Magician to have 210 HP by level 11 without adding APs into HP, they have to level as a beginner for all 11 levels, AND have perfect growths every level. Unfortunately I didn't record my HP/MP at earlier levels, but getting perfect HP growths for 11 levels straight seems extremely unlikely, so there's probably some other factor in play here.

Beginner HP by level 11 with max HP growth
50 + 16*10 = 210

Average Beginner HP by level 11
50 + 14*10 = 190

This also leads me to another question.

I've been gradually collecting int equips for a new Bishop, one that I planned to HP wash for 29 levels before promoting to Magician. The problem is, would this new stat system make any HP that I raise through washing drop upon promotion? Seeing as how I and more HP and MP than expected from a level 11 beginner promoting into a Magician, I can only assume there is some underlying formula to this. Does anyone have any idea what this hidden factor is, and would it screw up my plans to make a Bishop with a ton of HP? :f6:
