MLC wants to implement 'pay to enter' extra exp dungeons.

Just a word of advice. You either pick "they" or "we", you'll sound more uniform.

Zelkova Wrote:All we can do is submit ideas/community responses and see what Nexon wants to do. We hold no actual power when it comes to making decisions.
You guys have more power than you know. You have a voice that is actually heard. I don't know if I agree with the choice of candidates but you guys are what we got, who else to criticize to push our ideas than those who have a voice, the voice that is supposed to be our support?

Thing is in order to sustain a professional appearance before the MLC members post anything big or controversial as this, you guys should have throughly discussed it. I'm no expert but when proposing these ideas without the power to act, other options should have been proposed as well not just "Hey lets bring Mini-dungeons back but require NX!! Good idea? OKAY!!"

Instead:
"Hello guys,

We the MLC thought it'd be neat to bring back Mini-Dungeons. What do you guys think?

Our idea is simple:
-insert blah blah blah point 1-

We were also thinking about charging NX for bonus entries but having free passes like RLH. What do you guys think? Should we do that or have some sort of different way to go about it?

Thanks for your input guys, we're looking forward from hearing from you."

If it was typed like that, I don't think anyone else would've minded at all. It's all about catering to the needs of the community and getting opinions and input. If you ask a close-ended question, you guys aren't going to get far. The MLC should be voiced as a unison, however all I ever hear is: blah blah blah, not my fault it was some other representative etc. I don't really agree with that mindset at all and it's not professional.

I'm very disappointed in how the outcome of the MLC has come to.

SaptaZapta Wrote:I wonder whether this was really some Councillor's idea, or Artasi is just letting them take the fall for something that he proposed to them and tasked them with getting public opinion on.
That "Nexon will not accept any proposals on this topic" sounds like the lady is protesting a bit too much.

Either way, I'm glad that's off the table, and hope they can come up with something a bit more agreeable to fix the congestion issues.

Regardless, Artasi is not addressing the issue at hand. There are certain ways to ask things and engage the community. I know he was looking for people who seem to have a pretty good hand in the community with large audiences, however, placing them in other settings will lead to what we see now. Besides being popular, I believe there are many people on the forums who I think will do fairly well in those settings as I have witnessed on other forums. I don't know them personally but from speech patterns, ability to lead/direct and especially the ability to cater to the community without bias on necessary inputs, I'm pretty sure it would've been a step in the right direction.

As you can see here, something else is being proposed already.

VerrKol Wrote:Well, I'm sorry to here the MLC's first public attempt at doing something flopped so soundly. I had some hopes for the original idea, but the selection process left me highly skeptical. I didn't even recognize any of the council members outside of Zelkova and Bryan and that was a major red flag. MapleStory's most dedicated players have never been fond of the official forums, for a host of reasons that don't need reiterated here, and it appeared to me that many of the selected members were pulled from there. What? If Artasi had really wanted to pick class experts, presumably because they wanted feedback about class skills (???), all he had to do was look through the subsections here and on basil briefly to see who was answering the hundreds of questions. Either Artasi didn't actually want class experts/game experts in general or he was too lazy to actually make an honest attempt. There were less than 6 "experts" in archers across all the forums, youtube, etc. and more than one applied for the jobs, but only one was picked. Was there ever even a Mercedes rep? There are people that spent obscene amounts of time compiling game knowledge and disseminating it both in game, through fansites, and occasionally taking the ultimate battle to the official forums when there was no hope left. /rant

So apparently I still have a little passion left for this game after all even though I haven't touched it in months. I'm sure whoever the archer rep is making an attempt to improve things (cue conspiracy theories), but it only took me 10s on basil to see BMs are utterly unplayable and have the same skills bugged as when I left. They aren't even complaining anymore and instead indulge in fantasies out of sheer delirium.

So many of the most qualified and passionate people who would really volunteer their time to make this game great again have given up and moved. There are still a few around that I recognize and a few new ones have even appeared to take our place, but I can't help but think this attempt was doomed before it began even if it had Nexon's best intentions.

I really shouldn't have fallen into the black whole that is this game so I'm just going to post this even though it's incomplete and there's a lot more I'd like to say.

I agree with you. For the most part if you are a frequent forum browser like myself across multiple platforms, it's pretty easy to see things from a bigger perspective. I frequent BasilMarket[and other sites] and look through all the sections, not just a specific one and can pretty much pull names out of my head to who has the notable knowledge for what. Aside from that, you see the same issues across different boards whether is be here on SP, BasilMarket, Reddit, Official forums, YouTube, and even some personal blogs.
