Easy. Add some i-frame mechanics to every class, so everyone has a dodge or block skill (with a CD/limitations of course). Means watching your HP and fighting smart will be more important.

Once you buff up mob difficulty and exp rates, being able to traverse maps quickly will be a non-issue. If you're spending a couple of seconds each mob, the map is gonna fill fast enough to keep up. The current system relies on lots of fast kills - quantity over quality.
