Is it though? I just see a mention of new coins, but nothing about mesos... unless I'm missing something.

Costs about 10m to initially set up your kitchen.
At that point you can craft some items, provided you have coins to buy the ingredients.
To craft more advanced items, you need to upgrade your kitchen, bit by bit. I think that's all done by quests, though there might also be a meso fee. I'm still stuck on the first quest (kill 3 Elite Bosses), but I hear killing Hard Hilla is also required at some point...
