Edit: Does it normally get stuck on Character.wz?
I guess it's kind of late to tell you this since the patch is done (sorry :<), but it's better now than later.
You can first try to see if there's the official Nexon patcher. Sometimes they are updated at the same time, sometimes they are not. It's usually a good indication of whether or not it's a good idea to patch (if it's not there, that it's likely that there will likely be a checksum error when patching with the .patch file and cause delays in extractions), if they don't have the manual patcher, then make a backup (or if you're on Steam you can wing it and just wait for Steam to redownload the update for you in a couple of hours when they push the update out, lol).
http://download2.nexon.net/Game/MapleSto...erv163.exe
^ Change 163 to the current version number (as in, the one that Nexon is currently patching to).
If the official Nexon patcher doesn't exist (or is not working for you), check the following:
http://download2.nexon.net/Game/MapleSto...0163.patch
^ Change 163 to the current version number and change 162 to the previous version number.
*There are times where the patch file will be uploaded but will be taken down. (Also, if you're using a custom patch file detector script (like php in my case), there can be false positives (it'll see that it's there when it's really not)).
Get Fiel's Lite patcher from here: http://static.southperry.net/NXPatcher/L...atcher.exe (put it somewhere safe, don't move it around, you'll see why)
Run (double-click) the .patch file and when it asks you to set the default program, point it to NXPatcher.exe (don't move NXPatcher.exe or you'll have to reassociate the file).
(You can also skip the above and just drag and drop the patch file into the NXPatcher.exe in your File Explorer but I think it's easier with the above method)
It should only take a few seconds/maybe a minute and you should have the file (it'll ask you if you want to run the pre-patcher, click yes). Run it. And wait.
Tada, good as new!
Hello, fellow MapleStory StrategyWiki editor!
*Note: If it's stuck on a particular patch file (Map, Mob will usually take the longest btw since they're >1GB) and you've already tried the official Nexon one and Fiel's patcher; then that's intended by Nexon and try again in a couple of hours when they upload a fresh copy of the patch file.
