What part are you looking for? Why do you need it?
Whole new desktop (minus monitor and keyboard, those are new'ish, 1-2 years old).
What parts are in your current computer? Be as specific as possible. Links to Newegg/Tigerdirect are best. If you have a pre-built, include the make and model.
It's old, really old, but Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card could possibly be used temporarily.
How do you intend to use this new part or new computer? What's the heaviest load it's likely to encounter?
Gaming for the most part, would possibly like to start streaming. Computer now barely wants to run Saints Row 3 in certain situations.
If you live anywhere other than the United States, please indicate your country. USA
Essentially, I'm looking for something in the good+ range (if possible), that I could pull and plug a few things like graphics card and add additional RAM at a later time when more money allows to improve. And that's about all I feel comfortable doing a swap out with, because I'm not too knowledgeable about computer stuffs. I've googled and looked up a few websites for builds and pre-builts, but other than me "oooh and aaah'ing" at the fancy shiny cases, I might as well have been reading Chinese as to what's in them. Intel preferred I think?
dont be daunted by computer building, its really easy over(IMO the only hard things are jsut precision stuff for those with unstable hands, and driver installation). Haven''t built something on paper in awhile so this sounds like something I can do. BUT before I start I want to know a few things:
1) Do you prefer large cases(more airflow) or smaller cases (more compact)
2) Your comfort level with overclocking
3) any plans to multi GPU(this answer affects power supply limit and possibly motherboard choices)
I may have follow up questions, but this is fine for a start
oh and 4) if you DONT have an OS and need one, are you confortable obtaining your own or getting it cheaper due to not so straightfoward means(e.g microsoftsoftware swap/g2a keys)
