Polantaris Wrote:Chris Pratt's acting always seems off to me since my original impression of him as an actor is as Andy Dwyer in Parks and Rec. That being said, I fully acknowledge to myself that it's because of that that it seems weird to me. I think he did a great job and the movie was fantastic. It's also clearly set up for a sequel, I wonder how that will go (apparently he's already signed to contracts for it says my coworker, I dunno how true that is).
There were so many homages to the original movie, it was absolutely fantastic. Anyone who watched the original as a kid will thoroughly enjoy this one.
JP3 isn't THAT bad. As I said in an earlier post, it got a very bad rap because the story is terrible. It makes little sense and felt like a movie just to get more money off the IP. That being said, the action in the movie is fantastic, and overall it's a good action movie as long as you can ignore the terrible story. It includes a lot of the parts that were in the original books but were absent from the first two movies for whatever reason (like the bird cages). As long as you expect literally nothing from the story, you'll enjoy it. And sometimes summer blockbusters are literally only watched for the action so that decision is up to you.

Quote:With the film performing so well, and scoring some solid reviews too, EW naturally had to ask the movie's star Chris Pratt if he's signed up for further entries in the series.
His response was typical of Pratt - sincere, succinct, yet jokey: "I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something." Pratt himself has taken to social media in recent days to thank fans for the great reception to the film.
I liked it a lot. I am looking foward to seeing the next installments in the franchise, with all that set up for a follow up movie in this one.
