I was watching some gameplay during the Treehouse live stream for it. It looks like they took Metroid and Monster Hunter and tried to fuse them. Monster capturing? Really? I mean, it makes sense chronologically, as we've seen multiple times that the Galactic Federation loves to collect species of alien creatures to study, but that being the core gameplay of a title that hasn't seen a well received game since 2007 is just awful. Not to mention... They named the freakin' beasts stupid names like "ICE BEAST!" Even the Nintendo representatives playing the game were laughing at how bad those names were.
Also, apparently, the next time we get a big-name console Metroid game will be in at the soonest ~4 years from now according to a recent interview stating that if it were to be made now, it would be released for the NX - the next generation Nintendo console.
