I'd actually be down for a smaller community; Thats one of the things that made the game great back in the day, IMO. I haven't been playing for the past year or two, partly due to college, partly due to burnout of the game, partly due to personal reasons. The changes they've made have made the game less fun for me, in a way. Also, cubes, etc.

Small community isn't what made the game great back in the day, and a small community is not good for any MMO. It makes the market pomegranate, and a lot of game aspects such as party quests pomegranate.
