My biggest problem with guild quests is the fact that they're damned near impossible after 140 because the monsters become Apex. I have a 140 Deviljho quest that pretty much renders any defense you have useless. With my honed weapon and fully upgraded Kushala X set, I have over 815 defense. I do realize that set is ridiculously weak to dragon, but I eat for Dragon Res L and Felyne Dragonslayer, which pushes me from -30 to +8. With 815 defense and a positive resistance to dragon, that deviljho still one-shots me, which is complete and utter bullshit. I NEVER had a set with over 700 defense in MH3U, and I was just fine, even on the hardest of event quests. There is abso-fucking-lutely no reason that ANY monster should be one-shotting people with 815 defense. That is just asinine. All it does is make the game completely unfun, in every way imagineable.
I've also never EVER had this much trouble acquiring rare drops. I had to do the Desert Seltas Queen 23 times before I got ONE Desert Seltas Queen Concentrate. I got many, MANY regular concentrates, but only one D.S. Concentrate. When you have to grind a quest that many times for one item, the game warps into a chore rather than something I do for entertainment. I don't mind having to grind quests, but 23 times? Fuck that. I don't give a damn what monster or what rare it is, there should be a ceiling. If you don't get the rare by x-number of quests, you should get it automatically. 23 times is fucking bullshit. Once I ended up with 20 of every drop from the D.S. Queen, I walked away from that debacle with over 2.5m zenny just in SALES. That was nice, don't get me wrong, but after about the 10th time of running a quest for a rare, boredom starts to set in very quickly and the game once again becomes a chore.
I know everyone said 3U was the odd man out, and that 4U is closer to what Monster Hunter really is, but come the fuck on. When players in Japan complain that the game is too hard, maybe you should pull your head out of your ass Capcom. I sincerely hope they don't fuck up the next one like they did 4U. I'm over all these bullshit changes. The least they can do is reinstate the keyboard and voicechat to compensate us for the massive shitpile that is the online mode right now.
