I've never understood the hate for Jho, to be completely honest. He's not that hard to fight, and you can take massive advantage of his fast rate of exhaustion. As a gunner he's a bit harder because his attacks are basically all forward moving...but when you're melee he's piss easy because most of his attacks aren't designed to deal with hunters at his legs. If you stay on top of him you'll basically never have a problem with him.
I think people are mostly afraid of him because of his tendency to show up in early high rank (when you're not really ready to fight him), and the fact that a lot of players are just newer and have never experienced monsters that are far worse or the generally worse hitboxes in pre-Tri games.
Rajang is easily the hardest monster in the game. He hits like a mac truck and is nearly always in rage. He will rage when no one has done anything to him. His new attacks in this game are basically designed to wreck your entire party at once.
