VerrKol Wrote:SaptaZapta; You've got some great points there. I think that for this to work, the 'experts' need to act as a point of contact for others of their class. While some things like early job advancement quests can't be tested by those of us who have been 200 for years, the experts can still keep an ear to the ground and pass on the complaints. I know from my time in basil's Archer forums that I certainly wasn't the first person to report an issue every time, but I did know about a ton of things that took months to reach the official bug reports and some that never have.
I'm starting to think that for this system to work really well, there needs to be a clearly defined procedure for what and how the expert refers issues to the tester and developer groups. There will also be a relatively high level of responsibility placed on these experts in order for them to function effectively. They need to be readily accessible to the community through forums, but still tightly filter and present what gets passed along to full Nexon employees. No doubt this will be a time consuming and thankless job just like real Nexon employees
CM_Artasi; Are you thinking this will be a one time, periodic, or ongoing group? For instance, will the experts be merely evaluating certain updates like skill revamps in patches or do you envision them as part of an ongoing outreach effort to augment your current community relations responsibilities?
@The response to Sapta, that is the plan. We are not looking for people to represent only themselves. They would need to be able to reach out to the entirety of their community and discover issues and feedback to be taken into consideration by the larger group. All the terms and conditions will be defined when the group is formed. The group's conversations will be held behind closed doors (on a private forum I will create on the Official forums), but the outcome and proposals I plan to make public, of course, potentially voting records as well. The group may be eligible for some form of compensation which is yet to be determined.
I agree that this will be time consuming, though for those who are ready to do all that they can to help their favorite aspect of MapleStory, this is sure to be a clear avenue to spend time in.
@VerrKol: Permanent, on-going group. Possible rotation / elections / nomination period every six to twelve months. While specific updates will contain heavy focus, the time between will be focused on feedback and the creation of proposals for the MapleStory teams.

Also, in case you missed it on the Official forums:
Please feel free, as of now, to also nominate people for the various aspects of the community and game itself:
Story (HIGH PRIORITY)
Free Market/Economy
Bosses
Crafting (Independent sub-sections are welcome here)
Community Content/Fan Art
Bug Reporting
etc...
This will continue to run throughout the weekend and I'll start looking at things most closely early next week.
