I think people are labeling wrong. What they mean is that many hate religion, not a god. I totally agree in the fact that you can't hate something you don't believe exists. Just people being ignorant is all.

This can be argued either way. Should you assume there is dessert? I don't think you should. This analogy isn't very good though since either outcome can be logically reasoned.
