I wonder if this is really an issue of discovering it for yourself, or being disappointed that x mega didn't make it in. Because it sounds to me everyone wanted 'muh mega flygon, milotic, etc', and when they found out they weren't getting them, the blase comments came a flowin'. Even if we weren't presented with the information beforehand, people would be disappointed to see that there are only these amount of megas, and their favorites didn't get a form. Again, just a matter of when you experience the information, not necessarily how.
