I really doubt that's how it works. It has to be a substance that you can put INSIDE the body from what I got out of it. That said, though, he still could have made it much easier to pull off, by changing his lethal dose of water (what the pineapple could he even do about this? lmao), oxygen or carbon dioxide (He'd die literally by breathing), There's any number of things really... but instead he chooses BLOOD? Y'know, something he can easily bleed out just by cutting himself up a bit? Ridiculous. But it is what it is.
