Knowing for sure doesn't improve the ability of town-aligned players to use any night actions they might have more accurately, nor does it significantly alter any voting patterns during the day. For that matter, we'll likely end up having more evidence to support the claim as days go on anyway, and wasting a day to confirm him could just result in the mafia killing him to take advantage of that.
