It's not even that you would know people's roles or something, it's just that once you're dead you shouldn't be able to influence the game at all, otherwise death for mafia is just a numbers game, since if your pro player dies early they can just play vicariously through the other players, or they could be giving reads or info to the living. It's like how if a townie dies they shouldn't be PMing other (presumed) townies advice. Once you're dead, you're out of the game. I don't really mind about the past games because it was never really brought up so nobody knew it was happening, but I think there should definitely be a rule about it for future games.
