I think it has something to do with the performance of the game. Maybe the game forces off most of the firmware except the bare minimum (IE the front screen). The console definitely resets after the game is shut off, and needing to reset the firmware would explain that.
Both games run with exceptional frame-rate even with the 3D on, something almost every other game fails at. There's definitely something behind the scenes going on there. Don't be surprised if ORAS do the same thing if the frame-rate issues from X/Y are fixed.
That's a horrible idea. Why compete with yourself? Two extremely popular games being released by the same company on the same exact day has bad idea for sales written all over it.
they are trying to make it in before the holiday rush. all the top titles release before the holiday rush for maximum sales
